blinkofaneye.Anyonewhoisupagainst, orvery
closeto,anyairbagwhenitinflates canbe
seriously injuredorkilled.Donotsitunnecessarily
closetotheairbag,asyouwouldbeifyouwere
sittingontheedgeofyourseatorleaningforward.
Safetybeltshelpkeepyouinposition beforeand
duringacrash.Alwayswearyoursafetybelt,
evenwithairbags. Thedrivershouldsitasfar
backaspossible whilestillmaintaining controlof
thevehicle.
Youcanbeseverelyinjuredorkilledinacrashif
youarenotwearingyoursafetybelt—evenifyou
haveairbags. Airbagsaredesignedtoworkwith
safetybelts,butdonotreplacethem.Also,
airbagsarenotdesigned todeployineverycrash.

Wearingyoursafetybeltduringacrashhelps
reduceyourchanceofhitting thingsinsidethe
vehicleorbeingejectedfromit.Airbagsare
Occupants shouldnotleanonorsleepagainstthe
doororsidewindowsinseatingpositions with
seat-mounted sideimpactairbagsand/orroof-rail
airbags.
