Donottopoffthebrakefluid.Addingfluiddoesnot
correctaleak.Iffluidisaddedwhentheliningsare
worn,therewillbetoomuchfluidwhennewbrake
liningsareinstalled.  Addorremovebrakefluid,as
necessary,onlywhenworkisdoneonthebrake
hydraulic system.

reservoir isfilledwithDOT

brakefluid.SeeEngine

andaccess.
{WARNING:
Iftoomuchbrakefluidisadded,itcanspillonthe
engineandburn,iftheengineishotenough.You
orotherscouldbeburned,andthevehiclecould
bedamaged. Addbrakefluidonlywhenworkis
doneonthebrakehydraulic   system.
Thereareonlytworeasonswhythebrakefluidlevelin
thereservoir mightgodown:
Iftheignition  isonandthebrakefluidislow,the
CHECKBRAKEFLUIDmessagedisplays   intheDriver
Information Center(DIC).SeeDICWarningsand
Messages onpage4‑76.

Thebrakefluidlevelgoesdownbecauseofnormal
brakeliningwear.Whennewliningsareinstalled,
thefluidlevelgoesbackup.

Afluidleakinthebrakehydraulic    systemcanalso
causealowfluidlevel.Havethebrakehydraulic
systemfixed,sincealeakmeansthatsooneror
laterthebrakeswillnotworkwell.
