recently beenreplaced orifthebattery hasrun
down.Thediagnostic systemisdesignedto
evaluate critical emission controlsystemsduring
normaldriving. Thiscantakeseveraldaysof
routinedriving. Ifthishasbeendoneandthe
vehiclestilldoesnotpasstheinspection forlackof
OBDIIsystemreadiness, yourdealer/retailer can
preparethevehicleforinspection.

mightbeginprogramstoinspecttheemissioncontrol
equipment onthevehicle. Failuretopassthis
inspection couldpreventgettingavehicleregistration.

Toperformacheckenginelightbulbcheckwith
thekeylessignition, makesurethetransmitter fob
isinthepassenger compartment. SeeIgnition
Positions on page 3‑26.Pressthebottomofthe
Acc.buttonontheinstrument panelandholdthe
buttondownforfiveseconds.Theinstrument
panel,including thecheckenginelight,willlightup
andtheignition willbeon,buttheenginewillnot
start—pressthebottomoftheAcc.buttononly
briefly,lessthanfiveseconds,theaccessory
powermodewillbeturnedon,butnottheignition.
Afterthebulbcheck,pressandreleasetheAcc.
buttonagaintoturntheignitionoffandavoid
draining thevehicle's battery.
