Refit
20.
Manoeuvre upper column to position in footwell,
ensure splines in column and universal joint are
correctly engaged and rubber boot is fitted.
Fit but do not tighten universal joint pinch bolt.
Position upper column to upper mounting, fit
washers and nuts, do not tighten nuts.
Fit but do not tighten nuts and bolts securing
upper column to lower mounting.
Fit lower mounting steady bracket, fit but do not
tighten nuts and bolts.

Ensure upper column is aligned to mountings.
Tighten all nuts and bolts to 22 Nm.
Tighten universal joint pinch bolt to 25 Nm.
Connect column switch multiplug.
Connect ignition switch multiplugs.

Reconnect battery negative lead.
Check steering column lock for correct
operation, tighten shear bolts until heads shear
off.
