Theremotevehiclestarting featureallowsyouto
starttheenginefromoutsideofthevehicle. Italso
startsupthevehicle's automatic climatecontrolsystem.
Whentheremotestartsystemisactive,theclimate
controlsystemwillheatandcooltheinsideofthe
vehicleaccording totheprevious settings ofthesystem
beforeturningthevehicleoff.Therearwindowdefogger
willbeturnedonbytheclimatecontrolsystemwhen
itiscoldoutside. Ifthevehiclehasheatedseats,they
willalsoturnonwhenitiscoldoutside. SeeHeated
andVentilatedSeats on page 2‑5 foradditional
information. Cooledseatsarenotactivated duringa
remotestart.Normaloperation oftheclimatecontrol
systemwillreturnafterthekeyisturnedtoON/RUN.

(RemoteStart): ThisbuttonwillbeontheRKE
transmitter ifyouhaveremotestart.
Tostartthevehicleusingtheremotestartfeature:

Aimthetransmitter atthevehicle.
Pressandreleasethetransmitter's lockbutton,
thenimmediately pressandholdthetransmitter's
remotestartbuttonuntiltheturnsignallights
flashorifthevehicle's lightsarenotvisible,
pressandholdtheremotestartbuttonforatleast
fourseconds. Pressing theremotestartbutton
againafterthevehiclehasstartedwillturnoffthe
ignition.
Lawsinsomecommunities mayrestrict theuseof
remotestarters. Forexample, somelawsmayrequirea
personusingremotestarttohavethevehicleinview
whendoingso.Checklocalregulations forany
requirements onremotestarting ofvehicles.
Whenthevehiclestarts,theparkinglampswill
turnonandremainonwhilethevehicleisrunning.
Thevehicle's doorswillbelocked.
3. Ifitisthefirstremotestartsincethevehiclehas
beendriven,repeatthesesteps,whiletheengine
isstillrunning, toextendtheenginerunningtime
by10minutes.Remotestartcanbeextended
onetime.
Donotusetheremotestartfeatureifyourvehicleislow
onfuel.Yourvehiclemayrunoutoffuel.
Ifyourvehiclehastheremotestartfeature, theRKE
transmitter functions willhaveanincreased rangeof
operation. However,therangemaybelesswhilethe
vehicleisrunning.
