leaveenoughroomupaheadtostop,evenwithABS.
vehicleuntiltheABSactivates. Minorbrakepedal
pulsations orpedalmovementduringthistimeisnormal
andthedrivershouldcontinue toapplythebrakepedal
asthedrivingsituation dictates TheBrakeAssist
featurewillautomatically disengage whenthebrake
pedalisreleased orbrakepedalpressure isquickly
decreased.
UsingABS
StabiliTrak®System
Donotpumpthebrakes.Justholdthebrakepedal
downfirmlyandletantilock work.Theantilock pumpor
motoroperating mightbeheardandthebrakepedal
mightbefelttopulsate,butthisisnormal.
ThevehiclemayhavetheStabiliTrak systemwhich
combinesantilock brake,traction andstability control
systemsandhelpsthedrivermaintaindirectional
controlofthevehicleinmostdrivingconditions.
Thisisaccomplished byselectively applying anyone
ofthevehicle's brakesandreducing enginepower.
BrakinginEmergencies
ABSallowsthedrivertosteerandbrakeatthesame
time.Inmanyemergencies, steering canhelpmore
thaneventheverybestbraking.
TheStabiliTrak systemcomesonautomatically
wheneverthevehicleisstarted. Thesystemcannotbe
turnedoff.
BrakeAssist
Thislightwillflashwhen
thesystemisoperating.
ThisvehiclehasaBrakeAssistfeaturedesigned to
assistthedriverinstopping ordecreasing vehicle
speedinemergency drivingconditions. Thisfeature
usesthestability systemhydraulic brakecontrolmodule
tosupplement thepowerbrakesystemunderconditions
wherethedriverhasquicklyandforcefully appliedthe
brakepedalinanattempttoquicklystoporslowdown
thevehicle. Thestability systemhydraulic brakecontrol
moduleincreases brakepressureateachcornerofthe
