Thesensorsarematchedtothetire/wheel positions in
thefollowing order:driversidefronttire,passenger side
fronttire,passenger sidereartire,anddriversiderear
tireusingaTPMSdiagnostic tool.Seeyourdealer/
retailer forservice.
Replacement tiresorwheelsdonotmatchyour
vehicle's original equipment tiresorwheels.
Tiresandwheelsotherthanthoserecommended
foryourvehiclecouldpreventtheTPMSfrom
functioning properly.SeeBuyingNewTires on
page 6‑70.
TheTPMSsensorscanalsobematchedtoeach
tire/wheel position byincreasing ordecreasing thetire's
airpressure. Ifincreasing thetire'sairpressure, donot
exceedthemaximuminflation pressure indicated onthe
tire'ssidewall.
Operating electronic devicesorbeingnearfacilities
usingradiowavefrequencies similartotheTPMS
couldcausetheTPMSsensorstomalfunction.
IftheTPMSisnotfunctioning itcannotdetectorsignal
alowtirecondition. Seeyourdealer/retailer forservice
iftheTPMSmalfunction lightandDICmessagecomes
onandstayson.
Todecrease air-pressure outofatireyoucanusethe
pointedendofthevalvecap,apencil-style airpressure
gauge,orakey.
Youhavetwominutestomatchthefirsttire/wheel
position, andfiveminutesoveralltomatchallfour
tire/wheel positions. Ifittakeslongerthantwominutes,
tomatchthefirsttireandwheel,ormorethan
fiveminutestomatchallfourtireandwheelpositions
thematching processstopsandyouneedtostartover.
