kindoftransmission  fluidtouse.SeeRecommended
FluidsandLubricants  onpage7‑9.
Ifthefluidlevelislow,addonlyenoughoftheproper
fluidtobringthelevelintothecross-hatched    areaon
thedipstick.

Checkbothsidesofthedipstick   andread
thelowerlevel.Thefluidlevelmustbeinthe
cross-hatched area.

Pulloutthedipstick.
2. Usingalong-neck  funnel,addenoughfluidatthe
dipstick holetobringittotheproperlevel.
Ifthefluidlevelisintheacceptable    range,push
thedipstickbackinallthewayandturnthehandle
clockwise.
Itdoesnottakemuchfluid,generally    lessthan
onepint(0.5L).Donotoverfill.
Reinstall theengineaircleaner/filter  assembly.
Notice: Useoftheincorrect  automatic transmission
fluidmaydamagethevehicle,   andthedamagesmay
notbecoveredbythevehicle's   warranty.Always
usetheautomatic  transmission fluidlistedin
Recommended FluidsandLubricants onpage7‑9.

Afteraddingfluid,recheckthefluidlevelas
described under“HowtoCheckAutomatic
Transmission Fluid,”earlierinthissection.

Whenthecorrectfluidlevelisobtained,    push
thedipstickbackinallthewayandturnthe
handleclockwise.
