RemoteTrunkRelease
V(RemoteTrunkRelease):  Theremotetrunk
releasebuttonislocatedtotheleftofthesteering
wheelnexttotheinstrument   panelbrightness control.
Pressthebuttontoopenthetrunk.Thevehiclemustbe
inP(Park)orN(Neutral)   andthevaletlockoutswitch
mustbeofftousethisbutton.
{WARNING:
Exhaustgasescanenterthevehicleifitisdriven
withtheliftgate,  trunk/hatch open,orwithany
objectsthatpassthroughthesealbetweenthe
bodyandthetrunk/hatch  orliftgate. Engine
exhaustcontains CarbonMonoxide(CO)which
cannotbeseenorsmelled.   Itcancause
unconsciousness andevendeath.
Youcanalsopressthebuttonwiththetrunksymbolon
theRKEtransmitter toopenthetrunk.Todisablethis
feature, seeValetLockoutSwitchonpage3‑18.
Thetrunkcanbeaccessed   usingtheRearSeat
Pass-Through. See“RearSeatPass-Through”following
thissection.
Ifthevehiclemustbedrivenwiththeliftgate,
ortrunk/hatch open:

Closeallofthewindows.
Fullyopentheairoutletsonorunderthe
instrument panel.

AdjusttheClimateControlsystemtoasetting
thatbringsinonlyoutsideairandsetthefan
speedtothehighestsetting.   SeeClimate
ControlSystemintheIndex.

Ifthevehicleisequipped   withapowerliftgate,
disablethepowerliftgate  function.
