MakesuretheshiftleverisfullyinP(Park)before
starting theengine.Thevehiclehasanautomatic
transmission shiftlockcontrolsystem.Youhavetofully
applytheregularbrakesbeforeyoucanshiftfrom
P(Park)whiletheignitionkeyisinON/RUN.Ifyou
cannotshiftoutofP(Park),easepressureontheshift
lever.PushtheshiftleverallthewayintoP(Park)as
youmaintainbrakeapplication. Thenmovetheshift
leverintoanothergear.SeeShifting OutofPark on

Thereareseveraldifferent positions fortheshiftlever.
P(Park): Thisposition locksthefrontwheels.Itisthe
bestposition tousewhenyoustarttheenginebecause
thevehiclecannotmoveeasily.
