Thearrowsontheinstrument panelflashwhenever
signaling aturnorlanechange.Properly hookedup,
thetrailerlampsalsoflash,tellingotherdriversthe
vehicleisturning, changinglanesorstopping.

Parkingthevehicleonahillwiththetrailer
attached canbedangerous. Ifsomething goes
wrong,therigcouldstarttomove.Peoplecanbe
injured, andboththevehicleandthetrailercanbe
damaged.Whenpossible, alwaysparktherigon
aflatsurface.
Whentowingatrailer,thearrowsontheinstrument
panelflashforturnsevenifthebulbsonthetrailerare
burnedout.Forthisreasonyoumaythinkotherdrivers
areseeingthesignalwhentheyarenot.Itisimportant
tocheckoccasionally tobesurethetrailerbulbsarestill
working.
DrivingonGrades
Ifparkingtherigonahill:
Notice: Donottowonsteepcontinuous grades
exceeding 6miles(9.6km).Extended, higherthan
normalengineandtransmission temperatures may
resultanddamagethevehicle. Frequent stopsare
veryimportant toallowtheengineandtransmission
tocool.

Pressthebrakepedal,butdonotshiftintoP(Park)
yet.Turnthewheelsintothecurbiffacingdownhill
orintotrafficiffacinguphill.

Havesomeoneplacechocksunderthetrailer
wheels.
Whenthewheelchocksareinplace,releasethe
brakepedaluntilthechocksabsorbtheload.
Reducespeedandshifttoalowergearbeforestarting
downalongorsteepdowngrade. Ifthetransmission is
notshifteddown,thebrakesmighthavetobeusedso
muchthattheywouldgethotandnolongerworkwell.
4. Reapplythebrakepedal.Thenapplytheparking
brakeandshiftthetransmission intoP(Park).
Onalonguphillgrade,shiftdownandreducethe
vehicle's speedtoaround45mph(70km/h)toreduce
thepossibility oftheengineandthetransmission
