vehicledistance fromthecarinfrontofyou.Ifthe
warningdoesnotcomebackon,continue todrive
normally.
Ifanengineoverheat warningisdisplayed butnosteam
canbeseenorheard,theproblemmaynotbetoo
serious. Sometimes theenginecangetalittletoohot
whenthevehicle:

Stopsafterhigh-speed driving.
Idlesforlongperiodsintraffic.
Towsatrailer.
Ifthewarningcontinues, pullover,stop,andparkthe
vehiclerightaway.
Ifthereisnosignofsteam,idletheenginefor
threeminuteswhileparked.Ifthewarningisstill
displayed, turnofftheengineuntilitcoolsdown.Also,

Iftheoverheatwarningisdisplayed withnosignof
steam:

Turntheairconditioning off.
Turntheheaterontothehighesttemperature and
tothehighestfanspeed.Openthewindowsas
necessary.

Inheavytraffic,lettheengineidleinN(Neutral)
whilestopped. Ifitsafetodoso,pulloffthe
road,shifttoP(Park)orN(Neutral) andletthe
engineidle.
