Liftingavehicleandgettingunderittodo
maintenance orrepairsisdangerous withoutthe
appropriate safetyequipment andtraining. Ifa
jackisprovided withthevehicle, itisdesigned
onlyforchanging aflattire.Ifitisusedfor
anything else,youorotherscouldbebadly
injuredorkilledifthevehicleslipsoffthejack.
Ifajackisprovided withthevehicle, onlyuseit
forchangingaflattire.
Ifafronttirefails,theflattirecreatesadragthatpulls
thevehicletowardthatside.Takeyourfootoffthe
accelerator pedalandgripthesteering wheelfirmly.
Steertomaintainlaneposition, andthengentlybraketo
astopwelloutofthetrafficlane.
Arearblowout, particularly onacurve,actsmuchlikea
skidandmayrequirethesamecorrection youwould
useinaskid.Inanyrearblowoutremoveyourfootfrom
theaccelerator pedal.Getthevehicleundercontrolby
steering thewayyouwantthevehicletogo.Itmaybe
verybumpyandnoisy,butyoucanstillsteer.Gently
braketoastop,wellofftheroadifpossible.
