Thislightcomesonbriefly
whentheignition keyis
turnedtoSTART,butthe
engineisnotrunning, as
achecktoshowitis
working.
IfthewordOFFortheoffsymbolislitonthepassenger
airbagstatusindicator,itmeansthatthepassenger
sensingsystemhasturnedofftherightfrontpassenger
frontalandseat‐mountedsideimpactairbag.
If,afterseveralseconds,bothstatusindicator lights
remainon,oriftherearenolightsatall,theremay
beaproblemwiththelightsorthepassenger sensing
system.Seeyourdealerforservice.
Ifitdoesnot,havethevehicleserviced byyourdealer.
Thelightshouldgooutoncetheenginestarts.Ifitstays
on,orcomesonwhiledriving, therecouldbeaproblem
withthecharging system.Acharging systemmessage
intheDriverInformation Center(DIC)canalsoappear.
SeeDICWarningsandMessages on page 4‑66 for
moreinformation. Thislightcouldindicate thatthereare
problems withagenerator drivebelt,orthatthereisan
electrical problem. Haveitcheckedrightaway.Ifthe
vehiclemustbedrivenashortdistance withthelight
on,turnoffaccessories, suchastheradioandair
conditioner.
