Alwaysattachchainsbetweenthevehicleandthe
trailer.Crossthesafetychainsunderthetongueofthe
trailertohelppreventthetonguefromcontacting the
roadifitbecomesseparated fromthehitch.Instructions
aboutsafetychainsmaybeprovided bythehitch
manufacturer orbythetrailermanufacturer.Followthe
manufacturer's recommendation forattaching safety
chainsanddonotattachthemtothebumper.Always
leavejustenoughslacksotherigcanturn.Neverallow
safetychainstodragontheground.

Therearbumperonthevehicleisnotintended
forhitches. Donotattachrentalhitchesor
otherbumper-type hitchestoit.Useonlya
frame-mounted hitchthatdoesnotattachto
thebumper.

Willanyholesbemadeinthebodyofthevehicle
whenthetrailerhitchisinstalled? Ifthereare,then
besuretosealtheholeslaterwhenthehitchis
removed.Iftheholesarenotsealed,dirt,water,
anddeadlycarbonmonoxide(CO)fromthe
exhaustcangetintothevehicle. SeeEngine

TrailerBrakes
BecausethevehiclehasStabiliTrak®,donottapinto
thevehicle's hydraulic brakesystem.Ifyoudo,both
brakesystemswillnotworkwell,oratall.
Besuretoreadandfollowtheinstructions forthetrailer
brakessotheyareinstalled, adjusted andmaintained
properly.
