Iftheairbagreadiness lightstaysonafterthe
vehicleisstartedorcomesonwhiledriving, it
meanstheairbagsystemmightnotbeworking
properly.Theairbagsinthevehiclemightnot
inflateinacrash,ortheycouldeveninflate
withoutacrash.Tohelpavoidinjury,havethe
vehicleserviced rightaway.
Ifthereisaproblemwiththeairbagsystem,anairbag
DriverInformation Center(DIC)messagecanalso
comeon.SeeDICWarningsandMessages on
page 4‑66 formoreinformation.

Whenthevehicleisstarted, thepassenger airbag
statusindicator willlightONandOFF,orthesymbol
foronandoff,forseveralsecondsasasystemcheck.
Ifyouareusingremotestarttostartthevehiclefrom
adistance, ifequipped, youmaynotseethesystem
check.
Then,afterseveralmoreseconds,thestatusindicator
willlighteitherONorOFF,oreithertheonoroff
symbol,toletyouknowthestatusoftherightfront
passenger frontalandseat-mounted sideimpact
airbags.
