blinkofaneye.Anyonewhoisupagainst, or
verycloseto,anyairbagwhenitinflates canbe
seriously injuredorkilled.Donotsitunnecessarily
closetotheairbag,asyouwouldbeifyouwere
sittingontheedgeofyourseatorleaningforward.
Safetybeltshelpkeepyouinposition beforeand
duringacrash.Alwayswearyoursafetybelt,
evenwithairbags. Thedrivershouldsitasfar
backaspossible whilestillmaintaining controlof
thevehicle.
Youcanbeseverelyinjuredorkilledinacrash
ifyouarenotwearingyoursafetybelt—evenif
youhaveairbags. Airbagsaredesigned towork
withsafetybelts,butdonotreplacethem.Also,
airbagsarenotdesigned todeployineverycrash.

Wearingyoursafetybeltduringacrashhelps
reduceyourchanceofhitting thingsinsidethe
vehicleorbeingejectedfromit.Airbagsare
Occupants shouldnotleanonorsleepagainst
thedoororsidewindowsinseatingpositions
withseat-mounted sideimpactairbagsand/or
roof-rail airbags.
