CheckingtheFluidLevel
Then,withoutshuttingofftheengine,followthese
steps:
Preparethevehicleasfollows:

Locatethetransmission  fluidcapwhichislocated
nexttotheradiatorhoseandbelowtheengine
aircleaner/filter assembly onthedriversideof
thevehicle. ThecapismarkedTRANSFLUID.
SeeEngineCompartment  Overview on page 6‑14
formoreinformation  onlocation.

Parkthevehicleonalevelplace.Keeptheengine
running.
Withtheparkingbrakeapplied,   placetheshift
leverinP(Park).
Withyourfootonthebrakepedal,movetheshift
leverthrougheachgearrange,pausingforabout
threesecondsineachrange.Then,position    the
shiftleverinP(Park).
2. Afterremoving theengineaircleaner/filter
assembly toreachthetransmission  fluidcap,turn
thecapcounterclockwise  toremove.Pulloutthe
dipstick andwipeitwithacleanragorpapertowel.
4.
Lettheenginerunatidleforthreetofiveminutes.

Pushitbackinalltheway,waitthreeseconds,     and
thenpullitbackoutagain.
