floorandholdingitthereasyouholdthekeyin
STARTforuptoamaximumof15seconds. Waitat
least15secondsbetweeneachtry,toallowthe
cranking motortocooldown.Whentheengine
starts,letgoofthekeyandaccelerator.Ifthe
vehiclestartsbrieflybutthenstopsagain,repeat
thesesteps.Thisclearstheextragasolinefromthe
engine.Donotracetheengineimmediately after
starting it.Operatetheengineandtransmission
gentlyuntiltheoilwarmsupandlubricates all
movingparts.
ThevehiclehasaComputer-Controlled Cranking
System.Thisfeatureassistsinstarting theengine
andprotects components. Iftheignition keyis
turnedtotheSTARTposition, andthenreleased
whentheenginebeginscranking, theenginewill
continue cranking forafewsecondsoruntilthe
vehiclestarts.Iftheenginedoesnotstartandthe
keyisheldinSTART,cranking willbestopped
after15secondstopreventcranking motor
damage.Topreventgeardamage,thissystemalso
prevents cranking iftheengineisalreadyrunning.
Enginecranking canbestoppedbyturningthe
ignition switchtotheACC/ACCESSORYor
LOCK/OFFposition.
Notice: Theengineisdesigned toworkwiththe
electronics inthevehicle. Ifyouaddelectrical parts
oraccessories, youcouldchangethewaythe
engineoperates. Beforeaddingelectrical
equipment, checkwithyourdealer.Ifyoudonot,
theenginemightnotperformproperly.Any
resulting damagewouldnotbecoveredbythe
vehiclewarranty.
Notice: Cranking theengineforlongperiodsof
time,byreturning thekeytotheSTARTposition
immediately aftercrankinghasended,canoverheat
anddamagethecrankingmotor,anddrainthe
battery.Waitatleast15secondsbetweeneachtry,
toletthecrankingmotorcooldown.
