Thefollowing instructions explainhowtoweara
lap-shoulder beltproperly.
1.
Adjusttheseat,iftheseatisadjustable, soyou
cansitupstraight. Toseehow,see“Seats”inthe
Index.

Pickupthelatchplateandpullthebeltacrossyou.
Donotletitgettwisted.
Thelap-shoulder beltmaylockifyoupullthebelt
acrossyouveryquickly.Ifthishappens, letthebelt
gobackslightly tounlockit.Thenpullthebelt
acrossyoumoreslowly.
3. Pushthelatchplateintothebuckleuntilitclicks.
Ifthelatchplatewillnotgofullyintothebuckle,
checkifthecorrectbuckleisbeingused.
Iftheshoulder portionofapassenger beltispulled
outalltheway,thechildrestraint lockingfeature
maybeengaged. Ifthishappens,justletthebelt
gobackallthewayandstartagain.
Pulluponthelatchplatetomakesureitissecure.
Ifthebeltisnotlongenough,seeSafetyBelt
Extender on page 2‑33.
Engaging thechildrestraint lockingfeature
intherightfrontseatingposition mayaffectthe
passenger sensingsystem.SeePassenger

information.
Position thereleasebuttononthebucklesothat
thesafetybeltcouldbequicklyunbuckled if
necessary.
