ParkingBrake
Awarningchimewillsoundiftheparkingbrakeisset,
theignitionison,andthevehiclespeedisgreaterthan
5mph(8km/h).Thebrakelightwillcomeonandstay
onuntiltheparkingbrakeisreleased. SeeBrake
SystemWarningLight on page 4‑51 formore
information.
Theparkingbrakepedal
islocatedtotheleftofthe
regularbrakepedal,near
thedriverdoor.
Toreleasetheparkingbrake,holdtheregularbrake
pedaldown,thenpushtheparkingbrakepedaldown.
Whenyouliftyourfootofftheparkingbrakepedal,the
pedalwillfollowyourfoottothereleased position.
Notice: Drivingwiththeparkingbrakeoncan
overheatthebrakesystemandcausepremature
wearordamagetobrakesystemparts.Makesure
thattheparkingbrakeisfullyreleased andthe
brakewarninglightisoffbeforedriving.
Tosettheparkingbrake,holdtheregularbrakepedal
down,thenpushtheparkingbrakepedaldown.
Ifyouaretowingatrailerandareparkingonanyhill,
Iftheignition ison,thebrakesystemwarninglighton
theinstrument panelclustershouldcomeon.Ifitdoes
not,youneedtohavethevehicleserviced.
