Usin g the Engin e Block Heater
(If equipped)
Engine block heaters are strongly recom mend ed
if you live in a region where tem peratu res reach
ȕ20˚F (ȕ29˚C) or below consistently during the
winter months. An engine block heater warm s
the engine coolant, which improves starting,
warm s up the engine faster, and allow s the
heater-d efrost system to resp ond qu ickly.
To tu rn the heater on, sim ply plug it into a
grou nd ed 110-volt ou tlet. Ford recom mend s that
you use a 110-volt circu it that is protected by a
grou nd fau lt circu it interru pter.

To preven t electrical shock, do not use
you r heater with ungrou nded electrical
system s or two-pron ged (cheater) adapters.
