Shoulder Belt Emergency Relea se But tons
If the shou lder belt locks up in a collision, it
may stay locked . To unlock the belt, press the
emergency release bu tton on the shou lder belt
bu ckle. This allow s the tongu e to unlatch from
the bu ckle. If the shou lder belt is unlatched and
partially retracted , a warning light in the
instru ment panel lights up and rem ains on; the
warning chim e sou nd s for abou t five (5) second s.
To insert the tongu e back into the shou lder belt
bu ckle, push it in until you hear a click.
If the belt does not lie flat against you , or the
belt has a tw ist in it at the retractor, unlatch the
belt at the bu ckle, rem ove tw ist, and relatch the
belt into the bu ckle.
