The retractor will switch from the emergency
locking mod e to the au tom atic locking mod e
when the shou lder belts are pulled all the way
ou t. The retractor will switch back to emergency
locking mod e when the belts are unbu ckled and
the shou lder belts retract com pletely.
The au tom atic locking mod e must be used to
hold small child ren in position, particu larly
sleep ing child ren and those who may try to
squ irm out of the belts.
