Manual Tran saxle Fluid
The lubricant level and qu ality shou ld not
deteriorate und er norm al driving cond itions.
How ever, you shou ld have the fluid level
checked occasionally. If lubricant is requ ired , see
Lubricant specifications in the Ind ex.
Brak e Fluid
If you have a manu al transaxle, the brake fluid
reservoir in you r vehicle inclu des the clutch
fluid reservoir.
Und er norm al circu mstances, you r vehicle
shou ld not use up brake fluid rap idly. How ever,
exp ect the level of the brake fluid to slow ly fall
as you put more mileage on you r vehicle and
the brake pad s wear.
You shou ld check the brake fluid at every
sched uled engine oil change, bu t be sure to
check it at least once a year. You can do this by
looking at the fluid level in the plastic reservoir
on the master cylind er. (See The Engine Types in
this chap ter to locate the master cylind er.) The
fluid level shou ld be at or near the MAX mark.
If the brake fluid level is low , the brake warning
light in the instru ment cluster will illuminate.
