If you do not know the actu al weights of these
item s, use the follow ing proced ure to figu re the
weight of a load :

Weigh you r vehicle withou t the driver,
passengers, and luggage. You might take
you r vehicle to a ship ping com pany or an
insp ection station for tru cks.

Then weigh you r vehicle with the driver,
passengers, and luggage.
Subtract the first read ing from the second to
figu re the total weight of the load .
After determ ining this load , you must also make
sure that the total weight of you r vehicle, plus
the load it carries, is less than its GVWR. Also,
make sure that the weight you r vehicle carries
over each axle is less than the GAWR for the
resp ective axle.
If you r vehicle exceed s the GVWR, rem ove cargo
from you r vehicle accord ingly. If you r vehicle
exceed s either GAWR, shift the load or rem ove
cargo accord ingly.
RWARN ING
Improp er distrib ution of you r veh icle’s
load or carryin g weigh t in excess of the
amount shown on the tire decal can cause
rap id tire wear or loss of veh icle control.
RWARN ING
If the GVWR or the GAWR specified on
the Safety Com plian ce Certification Label
is exceed ed, you r veh icle may be damaged
or you may lose control and injure
