Clean ing the Engin e
A clean engine is more efficient becau se a
bu ildup of grease and dirt acts as an insu lator,
keep ing the engine warm er than norm al.

Extrem e care must be used if a pow er washer
is used to clean the engine. The high pressu re
fluid could penetrate sealed parts and
assem blies cau sing dam age or malfu nctions.

In ord er to avoid possible cracking of the
engine block or fuel injection pump, do not
spray a hot engine or injection pump with
cold water.
❑
The alternator, distribu tor and air intake must
be covered . Covering these com ponents will
help prevent water dam age.

Never wash or rinse the engine while it is
ru nning. Water getting into the engine may
cau se internal dam age.
Fillin g the Fuel Tan k
The fuel filler door can be opened by pulling on
the finger hold located on the rear edge of the
fuel filler door.
For you r convenience, a fuel filler door location
ind icator is inclu ded in you r instru ment cluster.
It ind icates which sid e of you r vehicle contains
the fuel filler door.
The fuel filler door is outsid e the vehicle on the
driver sid e near the back.

Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position
and rem ove the key. To rem ove the fuel cap ,
tu rn it counterclockw ise.
