Fill the tank com pletely and record the
initial od om eter read ing.
Every tim e you bu y fuel record the
am ount (in gallons or liters) purchased .
After at least three to five tankfu ls, fill the
fuel tank and record the final od om eter
read ing.

Divid e the total nu mber of miles that you
have driven by the total nu mber of gallons
that you r vehicle has used . In metric,
multip ly the nu mber of liters used by 100
and divid e the answ er by the nu mber of
kilom eters traveled . This will give you the
nu mber of liters used per 100 km .
