Installin g Child Safety Seats at the Rear
Outboard Seatin g Position s (For lap and
shoulder belts with cinch ton gues)
If you install a child safety seat in a rear
outboard seating position with a com bination lap
and shou lder belt with cinch tongu e, use the
follow ing proced ure:
1.
Grasp the belt webbing below the tongu e
and pull as much of the belt out of the
retractor as possible. Hold the belt ou t. See
Figu re 1.

NOTE: The belt webbing below the ton gue is
the lap belt portion of the combination
lap and shoulder belt, and the belt
webbing above the ton gue is the
shoulder belt portion of the
combination lap and shoulder belt.
