Do not let the reservoir for the master
cylin der run dry. This may cause the
brak es to fail.
Pow er Steerin g Fluid
Check the level of the pow er steering fluid at
least tw ice a year (i.e., every Spring and Fall).
Checking and Adding Pow er Steerin g
Fluid

Start the engine and let it ru n until the
pow er steering fluid reaches norm al
operating tem peratu re. The pow er steering
fluid will be at the right tem peratu re when
the engine coolant tem peratu re gau ge in the
instru ment cluster is near the center of the
NORMAL operating tem peratu re range.

While the engine idles, tu rn the steering
wheel back and forth several tim es. Make
sure that the cap assem bly is installed at this
tim e.

Turn the engine off.
Check the fluid level in the reservoir. The
fluid level shou ld be in betw een the F (Full)
and L (Low ) markings on the reservoir.

If the pow er steering fluid is low , ad d fluid
in small am ounts, continu ously checking the
level until you reach the F (Full) range. Do
not overfill. To find out how much fluid
you r vehicle’s reservoir for the pow er
steering fluid will hold , see Refill capacities in
the Ind ex.
6.
When you are finished , put the reservoir cap
back on and make sure that it fits snu gly.
