then tu rn off. This ind icates that the system is
operating norm ally. NOTE: Maintenance of the
air bag system is not requ ired .
A problem with the system is ind icated by one
or more of the follow ing:
❑the read iness light will either flash or stay lit,
❑
or it will not light immediately after ignition
is tu rned on,
❑
or a grou p of five beep s will be heard . The
tone pattern will rep eat period ically until the
problem and light are rep aired .
If any of these things hap pen, have the air bag
system serviced at you r Ford or Lincoln-Mercu ry
dealer immediately. Unless serviced , the air bag
Supplem ental Restraint System may not function
prop erly in the event of a collision.

Restrain t System or its fuses. See you r

Disposa l of air ba gs or air ba g equipped
vehicles
For disposal of air bags or air bag equ ipped
vehicles, see you r local Ford or Lincoln-Mercu ry
dealer. Air bags MUST be disposed of by
qu alified personnel.
Service and informa tion la bels
Service and inform ation labels are attached to
the sun visor, on the head liner above the
driver’s sun visor (Canad ian vehicles), and near
the rad iator support in the engine com partm ent.
