Puttin g Your Veh icle in Gear
RWARN ING
Hold the brak e pedal down while you
move the gearsh ift lever from position to
position . If you do not hold the brak e
pedal down, you r veh icle may move
unexpected ly and injure som eon e.
Usin g a Con sole-M ounted Gearsh ift
Since you r vehicle has a console-m ounted
gearshift, you must depress the brake pedal,
then push in the thu mb bu tton to move the
gearshift to the position you choose.
Once the gearshift is secu re in the desired
position, release the brake pedal and use the
accelerator as necessary.
The autom atic console-m ounted gearsh ift lever
To move the gearshift ou t of P (Park), the
ignition must be tu rned to the ON position and
the brake pedal must be depressed . When the
gearshift is in any other position excep t P (Park),
the ignition key cannot be tu rned to LOCK or be
rem oved from the steering colu mn. To rem ove
the key, the gearshift must be in P (Park).
