NOTE: If you r veh icle is equipped with an
autom atic tran saxle, and if you r speed
increases above you r set speed while
drivin g in k (Overd rive) on a
downhill grad e, you may want to shift
to D (Drive). This will red uce veh icle
speed . Speed control cannot red uce the
veh icle speed if it goes above you r set
speed on a downhill grad e.
NOTE: If you r veh icle is equipped with a
5-sp
eed manual tran saxle, and if you r
speed increases above you r set speed
while drivin g in 5 (fifth ) gear on a
downhill grad e, you may want to shift
to 4 (Fourth ) gear to red uce veh icle
speed . Depressin g the clutch pedal
cancels speed control, therefore speed
control must be reset by pressin g the
SET ACCEL or RESUM E switch es.
Speed control cannot red uce the veh icle
speed if it goes above you r set speed
on a downhill grad e.
RWARN ING
To keep control of you r veh icle, do not
use the speed control in heavy traffic or
on road s that are winding, slip pery, or
unpaved .
If you want to speed up mom entarily or regain
preset speed on hills when the speed control is
operating, accelerate using the accelerator pedal.
Manu ally accelerating to a higher speed does not
interfere with the speed control; when you take
you r foot off the accelerator, the vehicle retu rns
to the set speed .
