When you move the shift lever to “R” (Reverse)
position and the Rear Park Assist System is turned off,
a single chim e will sou nd once per ignition cycle and
the instru ment cluster will display “PARK ASSIST
DISABLED.”

The Rear Park Assist System is only a park ing aid
and it is unable to recogn ize every obstacle, in-
cluding small obstacles. Park ing curbs migh t be
tem porarily detected or not detected at all. Ob-
stacles located above or below the sen sors will not
be detected when they are in close proxim ity.

The Rear Park Assist System , when on, will MUTE the
rad io when it is sou nd ing a tone.
If a Rear Park Assist System malfunction occurs, a
single chim e will sou nd once per ignition cycle. In
addition, the Electronic Vehicle Inform ation Center
(EVIC) will display “SERVICE PARK ASSIST SYS-
TEM” and the LED in the Rear Park Assist switch will
illuminate. If this occurs, see you r authorized dealer
for service.
The veh icle must be driven slow ly when usin g the
Rear Park Assist System to be able to stop in tim e
when the obstacle is detected . It is recom mended
that the driver look s over his/h er shoulder when
usin g the Rear Park Assist System .
