transm ission into “N” (Neutral) and idle the vehicle. If
the need le rem ains on the “H” mark, turn the engine off
immediately and call for service. (See page 384 for more

24. Transmission Temperature Warning Light — If
Equipped
This light ind icates that the transm ission fluid
tem peratu re is running hot. This may occur
with severe usage, such as trailer tow ing. If this
light turns on, safely pull over and stop the
vehicle. Then, shift the transm ission into “N” (Neutral)
NOTE: The gau ge pointer will rem ain near its last
read ing when the engine is turned off. It will retu rn to a and run the engine at idle or faster until the light turns 4
tru e read ing when the engine is restarted .

25. Trip Odomet er Button
Cha nging the Displa y
Do not leave you r veh icle unatten ded with the en-
gin e running, as you would not be able to react to the
tem peratu re indicator if the engin e overh eats.
Press and release this button once to change the display
from odometer to “Trip A.” Press and release it again to
change the display from “Trip A” to “Trip B.” On vehicles
equ ipped with a Base Cluster, press and release it once
again to display the outsid e tem peratu re. On vehicles
equ ipped with a Mid Line Cluster, press and release it
