STARTING AND OPERATING
Improp er alignm ent will not cause vehicle vibration.
Vibration may be a resu lt of tire and wheel out-of-
balance. Prop er balancing will red uce vibration and
avoid tire cupping and spotty wear.

Do not use tire chain s on veh icles eq uip ped with tires oth er th an
P235/65R17 tires. Th ere may not be ad eq uate clearan ce for th e chain s an d
you are risk in g stru ctu ral or bod y dam age to you r veh icle.
TIRE CHAINS
Use only compact chains, or other traction aid s that meet
SAE typ e “Class S” specifications. Chains must be the
prop er size for the vehicle, as recom mend ed by the chain
manu factu rer. In addition, only install tire chains on
P235/ 65R17 or smaller tires.

Brok en chain s
can cau se seriou s veh icle dam age. Stop th e veh icle
im med iately if noise occu rs th at cou ld su ggest chain break age. Rem ove
th e dam aged parts of th e chain before fu rth er use.

In stall chain s on th e rear wheels as tigh tly as possib le an d th en retigh ten
after drivin g ab ou t 1⁄2 mile (0.8 km).

Do not exceed 45 mph (72 km/h).
Drive cau tiou sly an d avoid severe tu rn s an d large bumps, esp ecially with
a load ed veh icle.
