The 4WD Low position is inten ded for loose or
slip pery road surfaces only. Drivin g in this posi-
tion on dry hard surfaced road s may cause in-
creased tire wear and damage to the drivelin e
components.

Neutral (N) position with out first fully engagin g
the park ing brak e. The tran sfer case Neutral (N)
position disen gages both the fron t drivesh aft and
rear drivesh aft from the powertrain and it will
allow the veh icle to move desp ite the tran smission
position . The park ing brak e should alw ays be 5
applied when the driver is not in the veh icle.
When operatin g you r veh icle in 4WD LOW, the
engin e speed is approxim ately three tim es that of
the 2WD position or 4WD AUTO position at a
given road speed . Take care not to over-sp eed the
engin e and do not exceed 25 mph (40 km/h).

Prop er operation of 4-wheel drive veh icles de-
pends on tires of equal size, typ e, and circu mfer-
ence on each wheel. Any differen ce in tire size can
cause damage to the tran sfer case.

stop ping speed s. Do not go faster than road con-
dition s perm it. You or oth ers could be injured .
