NOTE: The light may flash momentarily during sharp
cornering maneu vers, which can change fluid level con-
ditions. The vehicle shou ld have service perform ed, and
the brake fluid level checked .
In the event of an EBD failu re, the Brake Warning Light
will turn on along with the ABS Light. Immediate rep air
to the ABS system is requ ired .
The operation of the Brake Warning Light can be checked
by turning the ignition switch from the LOCK or ACC
position to the ON position. The light shou ld turn on for
approxim ately two second s. The light shou ld then turn 4
off unless the parking brake is applied or a brake fault is
detected . If the light does not turn on, have the light
insp ected by an authorized dealer. (See page 310 for more
inform ation.)
If brake failu re is ind icated , immediate rep air is neces-
sary.
WARN ING!
Drivin g a veh icle with the brak e ligh t on is danger-
ous. Part of the brak e system may have failed . It will
tak e lon ger to stop the veh icle. You could have an
accid ent. Have the veh icle checked immediately.
The light also will turn on when the parking brake is
applied with the ignition switch in the ON position.
NOTE: This light only show s that the parking brake is
applied. It does not show the degree of brake application.
Vehicles equ ipped with Anti-Lock brakes (ABS), are also
equ ipped with Electronic Brake Force Distribu tion (EBD).
