turns on continu ously with the engine running, a mal-
function has been detected in either the ESP or the BAS
system , or both. If this light rem ains on after several
ignition cycles, and the vehicle has been driven several
miles at speed s greater than 30 mph (48 km/ h), see you r
authorized dealer as soon as possible to have the problem
diagnosed and corrected .
WARN ING!
With the ESP switch ed off, the enhanced veh icle
stab ility offered by ESP is unavailab le. In an emer-
gen cy evasive maneuver, the ESP system will not
engage to assist in main tain ing stab ility. “Full Off”
mode is only inten ded for off-h igh way or off-road
use.
NOTE:

ЉThe ЉESP/ TCS Ind icator” light and the ЉESP/ BAS
Malfu nction Ind icator” light will turn on momentarily
each time the ignition switch is turned ON.
ESP/BAS Warning Light & ESP/TCS Indicator
Light
The malfunction ind icator for the ESP is com-
bined with the BAS ind icator. The “ESP/ BAS
Malfu nction Ind icator” light and the “ESP/
TCS Ind icator” light in the instru ment cluster
both turn on when the ignition switch is turned to the
ON position. They shou ld both turn off with the engine
running. If the “ESP/ BAS Malfu nction Ind icator” light

The ESP Control System will make buzzing or clicking
sou nd s when it is active. This is norm al; the sou nd s
will stop when ESP becom es inactive follow ing the
maneu ver that caused the ESP activation.
