the system will turn on the Malfu nction Ind icator Light
(MIL). Resolving the problem will turn the MIL light off.

Tighten the gas cap until you hear a “clicking” sou nd .
This is an ind ication that the gas cap is tightened
prop erly. The Malfu nction Ind icator Light in the in-
stru ment cluster may turn on if the gas cap is not
secured prop erly. Make sure that the gas cap is tight-
ened each time the vehicle is refu eled .
VEHICLE LOADING
Certification Label
As requ ired by National Highw ay Traffic Safety Admin-
istration Regu lations, you r vehicle has a certification
label affixed to the driver’s side door or pillar.

When the fuel nozzle “clicks” or shu ts off, the fuel
tank is full.

This label contains the month and year of manu factu re,
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), Gross Axle Weight
Rating (GAWR) front and rear, and Vehicle Identification
Number (VIN). A Month-Day-H our (MDH ) nu mber is
inclu ded on this label and ind icates the Month, Day, and
Hour of manu factu re. The bar code that appears on the
bottom of the label is you r Vehicle Identification Number
(VIN).
Loose Fuel Filler Cap Message
If the vehicle diagnostic system determ ines that the fuel
filler cap in loose, improp erly installed , or damaged , a
“gASCAP” message will display in the instru ment clus-
ter. Tighten the gas cap until a “clicking” sou nd is heard .
This is an ind ication that the gas cap is prop erly tight-
ened . Press the trip odometer reset button to turn off the
message. If the problem persists, the message will appear
the next time the vehicle is started . This might ind icate a
