THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR VEHICLE
Replacement Keys
NOTE:
When havin g the Sen try Key Immobilizer
System serviced , brin g all veh icle keys with you to the
dealer.
NOTE: Only keys that are program med to the vehicle
electronics can be used to start and operate the vehicle.
Once a Sentry Key is program med to a vehicle, it cannot
be program med to any other vehicle.
Customer Key Programming
If you have two valid sentry keys, you can program new
sentry keys to the system by perform ing the follow ing
proced ure:
CAUTIO N!

match the ignition switch lock cylind er key code.
Cut the additional Sentry Key Transp ond er blank(s) to
Alw ays rem ove Sen try Keys from the veh icle and
lock all doors when leavin g the veh icle unatten ded.

Insert the first valid key into the ignition switch. Turn
the ignition switch to the “ON ” position for at least 3
second s, but no longer than 15-second s. Then, turn the
ignition switch to the “LOCK” position and rem ove the
first key.
At the time of purchase, the original owner is provid ed
with a four-digit PIN nu mber. Keep the PIN in a secure
location. This nu mber is requ ired for dealer rep lacem ent
of keys. Duplication of keys may be perform ed at an
authorized dealer or by using the Custom er Key Pro-
gram ming proced ure. This proced ure consists of pro-
gram ming a blank key to the vehicle electronics. A blank
key is one, which has never been program med.
3.
Insert the second valid key into the ignition switch.
Turn the ignition switch to the “ON ” position within 15
second s. After ten second s, a chim e will sou nd . In
