27. Odomet er/Trip Odomet er
The odometer show s the total distance the vehicle has
been driven. The trip odometer show s ind ivid ual trip
mileage. Refer to “Trip Odometer Button” for additional
inform ation.
Reset ting the Trip Odomet er
Disp lay the trip mileage that you want to reset, “Trip A”
or “Trip B.” Then push and hold the button (approxi-
mately 2 second s) until the display resets to 0. The
odometer must be in Trip Mod e to reset the trip odom-
eter.
NOTE: U.S. federal regu lations requ ire upon transfer of
vehicle ownership , the seller certify the mileage the
vehicle has been driven. Therefore, if the odometer
read ing is changed becau se of rep air or rep lacem ent, be
sure to keep a record of the read ing before and after the
service so that the correct mileage can be determ ined .

4WD Indica tor Light — Vehicles Equipped with
Selec-Tra c II
This light alerts the driver that the vehicle is in
Vehicle Warning Messa ges
the full-tim e four-wheel drive auto mode. In
this mode, the system operates with a norm al
torqu e split of 42% front axle and 58% rear axle.
It can red irect up to 100% of torqu e to the front or rear
axle, if necessary.(See page 292 for more inform ation.)
When the approp riate cond itions exist, messages such as
“door” (for door ajar), “gATE” (for liftgate ajar), “gLASS”
(for flip-up glass ajar), “gASCAP” (for fuel cap fault), or
“CH ANgE OIL” will display in the odometer.
