The transfer case will not shift.

Neutral - Disengages both the front driveshaft and rear
driveshaft from the powertrain. To be used for flat
tow ing behind another vehicle. Refer to “Recreational
Towing” in this section for more inform ation.
NOTE: The “SERV 4WD” warning light monitors the
electric shift 4WD system . If this light rem ains on after
engine start up, or it illuminates during driving, it means
that the 4WD system is not functioning prop erly and that
service is requ ired .

Transfer Case Position Indicator Ligh ts
The 4WD ind icator lights are located in the instru ment
cluster. The “N” (Neutral) ind icator light is located on the
4WD Control Switch. If there is no ind icator light on or
flashing, the transfer case position is 2-wheel drive
Shiftin g Proced ures
NOTE: If any of the requ irem ents to select a new
transfer case position have not been met, the transfer case
will not shift, the ind icator light for the previou s position
will rem ain ON, and the new ly selected position ind ica-
tor light will continu e to flash until all the requ irem ents
for the selected position have been met. To retry a shift,
move the 4WD Control Switch back to the original
(2WD).
If the ind icator light is on, the desired position
(4WD
AUTO, 4WD LOW, or NEUTRAL) has been ob-
tained .
