Within  60 second s of turning  the ignition  switch  to the
Automatic Locking Mode — If  Equipped
ON  position,   unbu ckle  and  then  re-bu ckle  the  driver’s
seat  belt  at least  three   times  within  10  second s, end ing
with  the  seat belt  buckled .
In  this   mode,  the   shou lder  belt   is  autom atically   pre-
locked . However,  the  belt will  still retract  to  rem ove any
slack  in the  shou lder belt.

NOTE:    Watch for  the  Seat Belt Remind  er Light  to turn
on  while   unbu ckling  the   seat  belt  and   turn  off  while
re-bu ckling  the  seat  belt. It  may  be  necessary  to  retract
the  seat belt.
When  To Use  The  Autom atic  Locking  Mode
Anytim e  a   child   safety   seat  is   installed   in   the   rear
outboard   seating   position.   Child ren   12  years  old   and
und er  shou ld  be   prop erly  restrained    in  the  rear   seat
whenever   possible.

Turn   the  ignition   switch   to  the   LOCK  position.   A
single  chim e will sou nd to signify  that  you have  success-
fully  completed  the  program  ming.
How  To Use  The  Autom atic  Locking  Mode
1.
Buckle  the combination   lap  and  shou lder  belt.
The Enhanced   Warning  System  (BeltAlert)  can  be reacti-
vated  by  rep eating this  proced ure.

the  entire  belt is  extracted .
Grasp  the  shou lder portion   and  pull  downw ard  until
NOTE:   When  the Enhanced   Warning  System (BeltAlert)
is deactivated  , the Seat Belt Remind er  Light will continu  e
to illuminate   as  long as  the  driver’s  seat  belt is  unbu ck-
led.

hear  a  clicking  sou nd . This  ind icates  the  safety  belt  is
now  in the  autom atic  locking  mode.
Allow  the belt  to retract.  As  the belt  retracts,  you  will
