Lubrican t Selection
Use only manu factu rer’s recom mend ed fluid. Refer to
“Fluids, Lubricants, and Genu ine Parts” in this section
for the correct fluid typ e.
Freq uency of Fluid Change
Und er norm al operating cond itions, the fluid installed at
the factory will give satisfactory lubrication for the life of 7
the vehicle. Fluid changes are not necessary unless the
fluid becom es contam inated with water. Change the fluid
immediately if contam inated with water.
Adding Fluid
Fluid shou ld be added only at filler hole until fluid
begins to run out of the hole.
Drain ing Fluid
First rem ove fill plug (2), then drain plug (3). Recom -
mend ed tightening torqu e for drain and fill plugs is
15–25
ft.lbs. (20–34 N·m).
