HSA (Hill Start Assist)
WARN ING!
The HSA system is designed to help the driver accelerate
the vehicle from a complete stop while on an incline. If
the driver releases the brake while stop ped on an incline,
HSA will continu e to hold the brake pressu re for a short
period . If the driver does not apply the throttle before this
time expires, the system will release brake pressu re and
the vehicle will roll down the hill as norm al. The system
will release brake pressu re in prop ortion to amount of 5
throttle applied.

TSC (Trailer Sway Con trol) cannot stop all trailers
from swayin g. Alw ays use caution when tow ing a
trailer and follow the ton gue weigh t recom menda-
tion s. Refer to ”Vehicle Load ing” and “Trailer
Towing” in this section for more inform ation be-
fore tow ing a trailer with you r veh icle.

If TSC activates while tow ing a trailer, stop the
veh icle at the nearest safe location and adjust the
trailer load to elim inate the trailer sway.
The follow ing cond itions must be met in ord er for HSA to
activate:
Failu re to follow these warn ings can resu lt in an
accid ent or seriou s person al injury.
• The vehicle must be stop ped.

The vehicle must be on a 7% or greater incline.
The Gear selection must match vehicle uphill direction
(i.e. vehicle facing uphill is in forw ard gear; vehicle
backing uphill is in reverse gear).
