NOTE: The air cond itioning compressor operates in Mix
and Defrost, or a blend of these modes, even if the Air
Cond itioning Snow flake button is not pressed . This de-
hu midifies the air to help dry the wind shield . To improve
fuel econom y, use these modes only when necessary.

the Outsid e Air position for maxim um defogging.

The A/ C will engage autom atically to prevent fogging
when the recircu lation button is pressed and the mode
control is set to panel or panel / floor.

Recircula tion Cont rol
Use this button to block the flow of outsid e

air from coming into the passenger compart-
ment. A light will illuminate when the sys-
tem is in recircu lation mode. Only use the
recircu lation mode as a tem porary means to block out
any outsid e odors, smoke, or dust, and to cool the
interior rap idly upon initial start up in very hot or
hu mid weather.
The A/ C can be deselected manu ally withou t distu rb-
ing the mode control selection.
Air Con dition ing Con trol
Use this button to engage the Air Cond itioning. A
light will illuminate when the Air Cond itioning
System is engaged
NOTE:
Continu ous use of the recircu lation mode may make
the insid e air stu ffy and wind ow fogging may occur.
Extend ed use of this mode is not recom mend ed.
NOTE: The air cond itioning compressor will not engage
until the engine has been running for abou t 10 second s.
