Electronic Throt tle Cont rol (ETC) Warning Light —
If Equipped
This light inform s you of a problem with the
CAUTIO N!
The TPM S has been optim ized for the origin al
equipment tires and wheels. TPM S pressu res and
warn ing have been estab lish ed for the tire size
equipped on you r veh icle. Undesirab le system opera-
tion or sen sor damage may resu lt when usin g re-
placem ent equipment that is not of the sam e size,
typ e, and/or style. Afterm ark et wheels can cause
sen sor damage. Do not use afterm ark et tire sealan ts
or balan ce bead s if you r veh icle is equipped with a
TPM S, as damage to the sen sors may resu lt. (Refer to
“Tire Inflation Pressu res” under “Tires — General
Inform ation ” and to “Tire Pressu re Monitor System
(TPM S)” in Section 5 of this manual for more
inform ation ).
Electronic Throttle Control system . If a problem
is detected , the light will turn on while the
engine is running. If the light rem ains lit with
the engine running you r vehicle will usually be drivable
and not need tow ing, how ever see you r authorized
dealer for service as soon as possible.
If the light is flashing when the engine is running, you
may experience power loss, an elevated / rou gh idle, and
increased brake pedal effort, and you r vehicle may
requ ire tow ing. Immediate service is requ ired .
The light will turn on when the ignition switch is first
turned ON, and rem ain on briefly as a bulb check. This is
norm al. If the light does not turn on during starting, have
the system checked by an authorized dealer.
