Towing Tips — Coolin g System
Towing – 2WD Models
To red uce potential for engine and transm ission over-
heating, take the follow ing actions:
Recreational tow ing is not allow ed.
CAUTIO N!

Cit y Driving
When stop ped for short period s of time, put transm ission
in neu tral and increase engine idle speed .
Towing with the rear wheels on the grou nd can resu lt
in severe tran smission damage.

Highw ay Driving
Reduce speed .
Towing — 4WD Models

Turn off tem porarily.
Air Condit ioning
The transfer case must be shifted into Neutral (N) for
recreational tow ing. The Neutral (N) selection button is
located at the top of the 4WD Control Switch. Shifts into
and out of transfer case Neutral (N) can take place with
the selector switch in any mode position.
