THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR VEHICLE
NOTE: A collision that is not severe enou gh to need
airbag protection will not activate the system . This does
not mean som ething is wrong with the airbag system .
WARN ING!
Unapproved modification s or service proced ures to
the fron t passen ger seat assem bly or its related com-
ponents may inadverten tly change the airb ag deploy-
ment in case of a fron tal crash . This could resu lt in
death or seriou s injury to the fron t seat passen ger if
the veh icle is involved in an accid ent. A modified
veh icle may not comply with req uired Federal Motor
Vehicle Safety Stan dard s (FMVSS).
If you do have a collision, which deploys the airbags, any
or all of the follow ing may occur:

The nylon airbag material may som etim es cause abra-
sions and / or skin red dening to the driver and front
passenger as the airbags deploy and unfold . The
abrasions are similar to friction rop e burns or those
you might get sliding along a carp et or gym nasiu m
floor. They are not caused by contact with chem icals.
They are not perm anent and norm ally heal quickly.
However, if you haven’t healed significantly within a
few days, or if you have any blistering, see you r doctor
immediately.
If A Deploym ent Occurs
The airbag system is designed to deploy when the
Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) detects a moderate-
to-severe collision, to help restrain the driver and front
passenger, and then to immediately deflate.
